Blueberry and black raspberry are threaded with earthy aromas, pepper and wild Mediterranean herbs. The palate is densely fruited and rounded, with low acidity and a lush, generous texture carrying the ripe berry flavours.
Gigondas lies against the Dentelles de Montmirail, where steep sandstone and limestone slopes have a long history of vine growing. Guigal's interpretation combines Grenache with Mourvedre and Syrah. Contemporary reporting describes ageing in large wooden foudres for roughly two years, developing the blend without relying on small new barrels.
