Quady's Starboard Batch 88 is a Californian fortified wine combining ripe fruit with the nutty depth of several years' ageing. Rich, warming and smooth, it sits stylistically between ruby and tawny Port while expressing its own San Joaquin Valley origins.

Ripe plum, chocolate-coated raisin and dried fig combine with warm, nutty aromas. The palate is sweet, rich and smooth, with concentrated chocolate and fruit flavours balanced by freshness. A warming, persistent finish retains the dried-fruit character.
Quady makes Starboard in California's San Joaquin Valley using Portuguese grape varieties, principally Tinta Roriz. Batch 88 recalls the first production of this style in 1988; it is a blend of vintages averaging roughly five years of age. The nautical name distinguishes this Californian wine from Port made in Portugal's Douro Valley.
