Bonavita Faro is a small-production Sicilian red blending Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Nocera. It reflects the terraced hills overlooking the Strait of Messina, combining local grape varieties with traditional, restrained cellar work.

Giovanni Scarfone returned to Faro Superiore in 2004 and began making wine with his father from the family's inherited vineyard. The estate's steep terraces lie between roughly 250 and 300 metres above sea level, surrounded by oak and chestnut woodland near Messina.
