Roasted apple, peach and gentle spice lead into pear, brioche and fresh walnut. Fine, creamy bubbles accompany the structured palate, with freshness sustaining its long, savoury finish.
The name was suggested by Bollinger's British agent in 1911. The blend brings together Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier from several harvests, with a majority of reserve wines, some held for years in magnums. Grand cru and premier cru vineyards provide most of the fruit.
